Toronto, March 24, 2008 - Biologists, anthropologists and sociologists alike assert that there are distinct differences between the genders, including how each processes the world around them. So, is it a stretch to suggest that the distinctness with which women view and interpret their world is carried over to their professional lives, including creative decisions in the filmmaking process? 

 

One of Canada’s most niche-focussed festivals will unwittingly tackle a few salient points surrounding this, as it introduces to the public a broad and impressive list of shorts, and feature-length narrative and documentary works, beginning this week, in Toronto.

CASTING CALL

New Brunswick - The province's latest casting call takes place Thursday, March 20; location unspecified. The actual shoot, a TV commercial encouraging people to vote, is on March 26, and takes place in the southeastern part of the province.

 

Actors must be originally from New Brunswick. Non-union and union actors welcomed. All roles are principal roles.

RVFF CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Grand Bay-Westfield, March 08 -  River Valley Middle School is steaming toward the fourth annual River Valley International Student Film and Photography Festival.


This year, the festival is open to all schools (public and private) in all countries. The submission deadline has arrived, with judging taking place in three locations in
Canada and China. The awards show and webcast will take place in March 2008.
