100 SPEAKING ROLES REQUIRED

 

Saint John, Feb 10  2005 - Afternoon - It's described as a two-part mini-series which examines the politics, diplomacy, officiating and raw emotion surrounding the eight famous games of the Canada / Russia '72 hockey series.

 

Auditions for the latest big budget made-for-television production to hit New Brunswick are taking place beginning Saturday, February 12th. Parts of the film will be shot in Saint John, however, the latest official word is that casting will take place in Fredericton and Moncton, beginning this Saturday, February 12th. For those wishing to audition, you should immediately email your resume and headshot to the New Brunswick casting director, Donna Rae Gibbs:

Actors should take their head shot and resume with them to the audition. Off-script is appreciated. 

No location is listed for the auditions, so it's likely they're by appointment and / or invitation only, once the casting director has reviewed the material received. More details will be revealed as they become available.

This made for television mini-series enters production on March 14 and continues until May 09. It is an ACTRA scale production. Call backs will be determined later.

 

About 100 speaking roles are required.

They are as follows:

 

Hockey players for each of the two teams.

 

Players must resemble the player the real-life player they are portraying, and be able to play hockey well.

 

Additional roles include:

 

Canadian coaches       Russian coaches        Players’ wives

 

Reporters        Referees           Scouts          Officials

 

And... of course.... the fans.
