... WORK-TO-RULE AFFECTS FESTIVAL ::

RIVEES SLOW DOWN, BUT DON'T STOP

Grand Bay Westfield, April 14 - The 3rd Annual River Valley Student Film and Photography Festival is still accepting submissions. This year the festival is open to all schools in Canada and the United States.

While the original deadline for submissions was May 01st, contract issues between the provincial government and teachers are causing a postponed deadline for submissions. While submissions are still being accepted at this time, a final three-week deadline for all submissions will be confirmed once work-to-rule activity ceases.

WHAT MAY BE SUBMITTED AS AN ENTRY?

Schools may submit 3 photos per category, for a total of 9 photographs, and one film per category for a total of 4 films. Film categories are Documentary, Drama, Comedy and Animation. The Photography division will be made up of Nature, People and Experimental categories.

Films must be no longer than 4 minutes in total length and produced during the 2004/05 school years. Photos must be digital, in jpeg, tiff or Raw format, with a resolution size capable of producing a 5 x 7 image. They must have been taken during the 2004/05 school year.
