MAJOR RECOGNITION AT FILM FESTIVAL

for saint john child actor

Fredericton, Nov 14 – Tiny Saint John-based child actor Sophie Wilcott (photo, with director Tim McDonough) has achieved a special honour at the Silver Wave Film Festival awards gala, being singled out for a new Silver Wave recognition as 'Most Promising Actress'.

Wilcott, co-star of THE STRINGS ATTACHED, receives high praise from producer Kendra Black, who also cast the film.

Says Black, “Four years old at the time, this little girl walked in and commanded the audition room! Her depth and range were so impressive, and later, on-set, she behaved with a discipline and genuine eagerness that is an example for anyone. Make no mistake, this was a demanding role and Sophie handled it.”

Wilcott, who has gone on to act in other short films, has her eye on feature film, and a chance to wear a ball gown at a future awards gala; one that she’ll be old enough to stay up for.
